PIONEERS LEADING THE WAY
The Minimally Invasive Spine Institute (MISI) is one of the most advanced diagnostic and treatment facilities for back/neck pain and spinal disorders in the United States, specializing in state-of-the-art minimally invasive laser procedures.
MISI was the first in Texas to perform endoscopic, or camera-assisted, laser spine surgery and the first in Texas to do so with an incision of less than 3 mm. Having been advisors for multiple international spine technology companies and having helped design many ground-breaking tools for the spine surgery industry, the Minimally Invasive Spine Institute is leading the way in innovative laser techniques to relieve neck and back pain.
THE MISI DIFFERENCE
Many doctors claim to perform minimally invasive back and neck surgery and are getting away with it because of the incision size. However, they often use expandable retractors, expanding once inside your spine and causing as much tearing and pain as open back surgery.
As pioneers in minimally invasive procedures, at The Minimally Invasive Spine Institute we never use expandable retractors. Our equipment allows us to go right between the muscle, often through an incision as small as 3 mm, to avoid cutting the muscle altogether.
Unlike other practices that only perform a certain procedure or pain management physicians who were not trained as spine surgeons, our surgeons are trained spine specialists. Each one is board certified and Fellowship Trained in spine surgery and is educated in the most innovative, state-of-the-art, minimally invasive laser technologies on the market. We also perform a comprehensive list of spine procedures tailored to each patient's specific condition and never take a one-size-fits-all approach. At The Minimally Invasive Spine Institute, little things make a big difference. Your pain ends here.
YOUR PAIN ENDS HERE
Utilizing world-class technologies and highly-advanced microscopic tools, our innovative laser techniques allow for:
-
Less Anesthesia
Due to the size of our incisions and our ability to use lasers to treat the source of your pain, very little anesthesia is needed and usually only locally.
-
Less Recovery Time
Patients often walk out of the surgery center in as little as two hours after the procedure.
-
Less Trauma
Pioneering laser spine techniques without muscle damage that often require NO stitches.
-
Less Blood Loss
Less blood loss and less trauma mean a much quicker recovery for you and your body.
-
Less Scarring
Often requiring only a BAND-AID® for healing, our minimally invasive procedures leave you with virtually no scar tissue so you can enjoy an active lifestyle once again.
WE SPECIALIZE IN BAND-AID® PROCEDURES
Many procedures are so minimally invasive they only require a 3 mm incision. Because we don't use expandable retractors, like many others claiming to do minimally invasive surgery, we don’t tear or strip the muscle. This means NO stitches and only a small Band-Aid® during recovery.
