Dr. Rodriguez is a board certified anesthesiologist and fellowship-trained interventional pain physician who is dedicated to the eradication of pain. He joins the Minimally Invasive Spine Institute as their newest interventional pain specialist. He received his medical degree from the University Of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas. Following this, he completed his anesthesia residency at the prestigious Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, FL (ranked among the very best pain management programs in the country by U.S.News & World Report), and continued his training in the pain fellowship there.
Dr. Rodriguez specializes in interventional and non-interventional pain treatments for conditions such as arthritis, cancer pain, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), diabetic peripheral neuropathy, facial pain, temporomandibular joint pain (TMJ), fibromyalgia, foot pain, headaches, hip and leg pain, knee pain, low back pain, motor vehicle injuries, neck pain, pelvic pain, phantom limb pain, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, sciatica, spinal stenosis, trigeminal neuralgia, vertebral body fractures, and whiplash pain, among others. Dr. Rodriguez is proficient in interventional procedures including adhesiolysis, caudal steroid injection, celiac plexus block, cervical steroid injection, continuous catheter nerve blocks, disc denervation, discography, epidural steroid injection, facet injections, ganglion impar block, intradiscal electrothermal therapy, intrathecal pump implants, medial branch blocks, occipital nerve block, peripheral nerve stimulation, radiofrequency ablation, sacroiliac joint injections, spinal cord stimulator implants, sphenopalatine ganglion block, stellate ganglion block, superior hypogastric plexus block, sympathetic block, and vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty, among others.
Dr. Rodriguez’ treatment philosophy centers on a holistic, evidence-based care approach using conservative treatment in conjunction with physical rehabilitation and behavioral support. His experience and education allow him to provide each patient with thorough care and a highly effective course of treatment. In addition, Dr. Rodriguez utilizes interventional techniques for patients whose pain does not respond to the initial course of treatment.
Dr. Rodriguez is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the American Medical Association, the American Society of Regional Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, the International Anesthesia Research Society, the North American Spine Society, the American Academy of Pain Medicine, the International Spine Intervention Society, and the Association of Academic Physiatrists. Dr. Rodriguez’ pain research and innovative use of cutting-edge technology have been presented and recognized by several of these associations.
